Careening down a crowded street with no breaks. Blunt in one hand, gun in the other. Radio on full blast. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Bohemia The Punjabi Rapper. Hailing from Oakland, California, Bohemia unloads automatic rounds of street-savvy Punjabi raps interlaced with pounding drum kicks, chunky bass lines and contagious melodies. This new genre of music, known as Desi Rap is not only for those who speak Punjabi, but for those who love rap music. Bohemia's lyrics expose us to the streets from a Desi point of view. His experience as a Desi youth in America is a life divided between the influence of Desi culture, and the influence of urban-American culture. Through his music, Bohemia unifies both cultures. "In this life out here I've encountered many things: murderers, friends, trust, deceit, love, sex, drugs and hip hop ~It can be a lot to swallow, but it's all just a day's work..." Strap on your seat belt and hit the blunt.
1. Early Life
Roger David better known by his stage name Bohemia was born on October 15th 1979 in Karachi, Pakistan into a Punjabi Christian family that converted from Sikhism [4] although he stated However in my house, the Granth Sahib and the Bible were both there, though I was raised as a Christian. As for me, I believe in God, but I am not religious [5] . When Bohemia was about 14 years old, he moved to California, along with his family.
2.Bohemia's Music Career :-
Bohemia as a young teen started learning how to play harmonium at a very young age from his father. Raja used rapping as an outlet to escape from his thug life style. He took a bold step and became a local musician who played along with artists such as Sunil Khanna (you will find him listed in Sunil's bio) and Manesh Judge. Sunil has referred to Ra as a great musician and a poet; Ra soon started putting his poetry to his music and gave birth to Bohemia, the punjabi rapper.
Through his experiences, come raw raps depicting not just California street life, but a life many South Asians lead in America. His lyrics are in Punjabi, while many of the hooks are in English. Raja looks up to artists such as Jagjit Singh and the late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Bohemia's first album, Vich Pardesan De (In The Foreign Lands), was released independently in 2002 and was soon among the top ten most requested songs on BBC radio 1 in the UK. His next album, Pesa Nasha Pyar (Money Addiction Love), was released in 2006 under Universal Music Group Pvt. Ltd. India and Ishq Records, UK making it the first ever full-length Desi-Rap album to be released by a major label. Hailing from California USA, Bohemia unloads automatic rounds of street-savvy Punjabi raps interlaced with pounding kicks, chunky bass lines and contagious melodies.
After having burnt up music charts with his Bollywood songs, Bohemia's highly awaited album Da Rap Star has finally released (Universal Music Group, April 2009). Da Rap Star, written and produced entirely by Bohemia hit No1 on the Planet M/Music World Chart in Punjabi, India.

Third Album
This is Bohemia’s second official release in India after the earlier album Pesa Nasha Pyar introduced the sensational Punjabi rapper Bohemia to the nation and it’s his third release worldwide. Da Rap Star comes right after Bohemia’s Bollywood performances with Akshay Kumar, probably the right time to release an album.
Bollywood playback can really get you a lot of recognition across the globe. Da Rap Star has been written and product entirely by Bohemia himself. This is something I like about the dude. The expectations are at an all time high especially after Pesa Nasha Pyar blew my mind away.
